The Long Road To AMC Awareness
In June, Misha Dream Walker, AMCSI International Ambassador, travels across the USA raising awareness for Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC). Traveling by car, Misha and her husband Michael, be winding their way across the United States visiting dozens of cities before arriving at the annual Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita Support Inc. conference in Norfolk, Virginia. Their mission is simple: "We want to reach families along the way who are affected by this rare condition, bringing them support and hope for the future."
"For those who have these rare conditions and those who love them, it’s easy to feel alone… We want to let them know that there are people, groups, and foundations here to support them."
This June the ‘old lady’ of AMC ( the car the Misha and her husband Michael travel in) will once again be getting her blue hands back on the blacktop and traveling another 8000 miles to visit as many families as possible. "We feel our first 2 trips have been incredible, and as we pulled exhausted into to Annual AMSCI conference for the last 2 years, we’ve looked back with joy at the awareness raised, new skills learned and bridges built between the smiling faces of our beautiful AMC family. Alone we are rare, but together we can roar!"
